The Oak View Group wanted to tell the story of what they expected to be their latest engineering marvel. The project involved suspending a World's Fair historic roof in the air and digging down through the existing stadium to expand for the soon to be named Climate Pledge Arena. 
Our comprehensive thorough cataloguing of each step in the journey and careful crafting of the narrative shines through in this feature length documentary.

Managing film production for the 3+ years process of building Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle brought with it unique challenges. The production crew was tasked with documenting the construction process from ideation to implementation and on through to opening night, while capturing interviews with key stakeholders to help explain the building's unique story. Coordinating 3+ years of shoots while expectedly dealing with the hazards of a live construction site, and unexpectedly dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organization and attention to detail were necessities when making the Climate Pledge Arena documentary. Blue Pixel rolled with the punches developing new on-site filming tactics to ensure safety while still capturing visually and narratively compelling content when the pandemic hit. Streamlined communication and processes helped to cleanly organize and maintain an easily referenced catalog and structure as the footage grew to more than 26 TB across the project.

Interviews, and archive footage following the process all the way through to opening night. tested the crew's coordination and creativity. Tight timelines, along with the uncertainty surrounding the hockey team expansion bid, intensified the project's complexity. Carefully cataloging and organizing a massive 30 TB of footage enabled the storytelling to captivatingly portray the arena's journey from concept to reality.
